Greetings unto the populace of An Tir.

This coming weekend is the annual Iron & Ink Retreat hosted this year by the
Barony of Wastekeep. Iron & Ink is offered as a weekend retreat for the
Artisans of the Inland's region of central An Tir. However, anyone and
everyone who desires to join in and take part are most welcome. We will be
holding the event in Pendleton, Oregon and are looking forward to seeing you
all there.

Classes being offered: Silk Painting, Chainmail Rope, Cloak Construction,
Norse Wire Weaving, Simple Cheese Making, Arrow Construction, Flemish Twist
Bow Strings, Button Making, Blacksmithing, Basic Calligraphy, Basic Gouache,
Gilding, Maiolica painting, Making a "Forgery", Beginning Engraving,
Intermediate Engraving on Metal, Lampwork Beads, Intro to Norse Embroidery,
Intro to Heraldry, Courtesy & Etiquette,

Children's Classes that require fees: Viking A-Frame Class, Puppet
Decorating Class, War Field Subtleties, Heraldry for Kids, Banner Making,
Leather Pouch Making

Other Children's Activities (no fees): Castle Play Time, Book of Kells
Color-time, Once upon a Puppet Theater, Hunt for Gruenfjell`s Treasure

There is a Open Pit Firing for ceramics (come help feed the fire:-} Friday
evening and A Bardic Pit Saturday evening.

many classes are available for sign up on-line or on site Saturday morning.
Most classes have lab fees that are paid directly to instructors. Please
bring small bills to pay for these classes.  Due to various hazards
associated with classes, modern work-type clothing is recommended and
acceptable for classes.  

SITE OPENS 3:00 Friday and CLOSES 5:00 pm Sunday. 

SITE FEES:  Blue Card Carrying members are $10.00 plus your feast
contribution. Children age 5 and under free.  Youth ages 6 thru 14 $5.00.
Mundane family cap amount $25.00.  This does not include class fees.
Non-Members please add an additional $3.00 for the NMS fee. Please make
checks payable to The Barony of Wastekeep, SCA INC.

We will be holding a Garbed potluck feast this year. We ask participants (by
modern name) to bring the following to feast to feed 8-10 people:

A-H     Desserts
I-O   Bread or Cheese
P-Z      Meat or Main Dish

A dessert auction will be happening during the feast. 

The noon time meal on Saturday and the morning meal on Sunday will be
provided.  

This is a wet site.  However, we do ask that if you pack it in, please pack
it out.  This is a private residence.  There are dogs that live on site, but
are fenced.  Due to the landowners request NO OTHER ANIMALS allowed on site.
We would also like to make the populace aware, there will be a recent
removal of a bee hive on site prior to the event. IF you are allergic,
please bring the proper supplies if needed to deal with a sting.

Find your way to I-90 and head towards Exit 220. Merge onto US-395 S via
EXIT 220 toward PASCO. Merge onto US-12 E toward WALLA WALLA. Stay STRAIGHT
to go onto US-730 S (Crossing into OREGON). Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto
OR-37/PENDLETON-COLD SPRINGS HWY. End at 79532 Highway 37 PENDLETON, OR

FROM SEATTLE:
Find your way to I-90 EASTBOUND. Merge onto I-82 E via EXIT 110 toward
YAKIMA (Crosses into OREGON). Take the US-395/US-730 exit- EXIT 1- toward
UMATILLA/HERMISTON. Turn LEFT onto US-395/US-730/6TH ST/COLUMBIA RIVER HWY.
Continue to follow US-730/COLUMBIA RIVER HWY. Turn RIGHT onto
OR-37/PENDLETON-COLD SPRINGS HWY. End at 79532 Highway 37 PENDLETON, OR 

FROM PORTLAND:
Head West onto I-82 toward HERMISTON/UMATILLA. Take the US-395 S/US-730
exit- EXIT 1- toward UMATILLA/IRRIGON. Turn RIGHT onto US-395/US-730/6TH
ST/COLUMBIA RIVER HWY. Continue to follow US-730/COLUMBIA RIVER HWY. Turn
